Scope of Global Automotive Switches Market
Automotive switches activate the main electrical system which is installed in an automobile and control various functioning of an automobile such as lights, engine start/stop, mirror controls, door, steering wheel, seat, and others. They are available in various designs like toggle, rocker, push button and rotary switches. Automotive switches a firmware that adds a layer of intelligence to handle the ever-increasing network functions required to enhance the reliability, durability, optimal performance, scalability, safety, and security of vehicles.
The overall impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has been negative on the automotive switches market. The results of the pandemic have flowed through many lives and have flipped over aspects of health care, transportation, and the economy in almost every country. As industries shut down globally, road traffic ground to a stop, and the demand for automobiles tumbled. For instance, near about 7.4% of sales of vehicles dropped in European countries. Thus, with the drop in automobile industry, the overall demand for automotive switches is also decreased during the pandemic.

News: -
Uno Minda to invest Rs 300 crore to expand manufacturing of alloy wheels and switches.
August 26th, 2022-Automotive component manufacturer Uno Minda Ltd announced that it is investing about Rs 300 crore in making alloy wheels and switches that will expand their production capacity. As per the company statement, its additional Minda Kosei Aluminum Wheel Private Ltd will be enlarging its 4W Alloy wheel capacity by 60,000 wheels/month to 240,000 wheels/month at its plant in Bawal, Haryana.
Global Automotive Switches Market Dynamics
Furthermore, the increasing use of electric components in automobiles and mass vehicle production is boosting the growth of the automotive switches market. As awareness about automotive safety and comfort is increasing among the key players of automotive switches. Also, as the automotive user interface design has been an exciting standpoint to enhance user experience while reducing response time, electrochemical switches are an integral part of these kinds of characteristics for automobiles.
Likewise, in the current scenario vehicles would go driverless and for that designers must come up with new ways to improve customer experience. Also, auto theft is a major concern worldwide. For instance, according to Insurance Information institute, more than 810,000 vehicles are reporting as stolen in United State, in 2020. To avoid the risk of having a car stolen, many vehicle customers are installing vehicle kill switches on their vehicles. Thus, the demand for automotive switches is increasing. Consequently, the automotive switches market is growing at a faster pace.
Furthermore, increasing technological advancement in automotive pushbutton switches is also expected to accelerate the automotive switches market growth. In terms of technological advancements in automotive switches, the main series of a pushbutton in the automobile came into focus. Thus, some key players are focusing on technologically advanced push button switches for automobiles. For instance, in 2022, NKK Switches, launches YB15Y020 illuminated pushbutton recently, with excellent feature offerings like, SPDT miniature pushbutton, Panel sealed, IP65 rated (dust and oil tight as well as splashproof) at the front panel, 3A power level at 125VAC/250VAC or 30VDC, Etched power symbol legend on the cap, Four 12" wire leads, and many others. Therefore, increasing technological advancement in pushbutton switches drives market growth.
Global Automotive Switches Market Restraint & Opportunity
However, high cost, and low availability are affecting the growth of the automotive switches market. Furthermore, an increase in investment by key players in terms of various advancements in automotive switches, and the rising penetration of electronic devices in the automobile industry may create new opportunities for the growth of market in near future.
Global Automotive Switches Market Regional Analysis
Geographically, Asia Pacific accounts for the highest share of the automotive switches market. In Asia Pacific, China accelerates the market, by increasing foreign investment in the form of alliances, and business ventures between international automobile manufacturers and Chinese partners, also increasing passenger car production. For instance, according to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, approximately more than 21 million commercial vehicles are produced in 2021. Thus, the market for automotive switches is expanding into the region.
Also, North America is second dominating region for automotive switches market owing to the increasing production of automotive switches by key players, and investing more energy in launching new featured switches, for increasing performance efficiency and vehicle communication. For instance, in 2021, American company Elektrobit launches Industry-First Automotive Ethernet Switch Firmware named EB zoneo Switch Core. Thus, the market for automotive switches is growing in this region.
